Fitness Business One year from now!

One year from now I would like to have a successful training business one which can make me money and function without me even being there. I want it to be more tthan a job. I want it to be a lifestyle or calling. I want to help people with real problems. I don’t want to exclusively train people that are allready in good shape. I want to train and help people truly improve there standard of living. I want to train people with real problems such as obesity, arthritis, Multiple Sclerosis, people coming back from Cancer, and women trying to lose the baby weight. Somewhere in there I will find my target market maybe my target market is just special populations in general. I don’t know yet but I do know that I have not found it yet. One year from now I would like to have joint partnerships with Doctors, Physical Therapists, Chiropractor’s, OBGYN’s, and Orthopedic Suregons. I would like to have partnerships with the Stephanie Speilman Foundation, MS groups of Central Ohio, as well as different weight loss groups. I would like to have at least two more certificates to help me get referrals in this realm one from The American Society of Sports Medicine (ACSM) and the Specialized Fittness for Older Adults Certificate from The International Sports & Sciences Association (ISSA). I have a big plan on how I am going to start getting referrals from Doctors. Stay tuned for more information.I would also like a Youth Sports and Conditioning Certificate to be more qualitfied to train Middle School and High School Athletes. I would like to convey my extensive training knowledge particularly to soccer players. I would like to get athletes on the exact same level as a World Record Powerlifter who is my direct competion and see if my athletes improve more than his.I would like to net at least $52,000 per year. I would like to quit discounting my services to the point where it is practically impossible for me to make money. I would like to have 5 solid funnels for getting new clients on a regular basis:1. Client Cloner System2. People at Ultimate Sports Center3. Mobile Marketing (magnetic signs)4. Networking with existing contacts5. Fundraisers using plastic gift cards I would like to get the respect and referrals that I believe I am capable of getting. I know that if I deliver the kinds of workouts I am capable of giving taht I will have raving fans, have them referring me boatloads of new clients, accompanying me to networking events, and building my business dynasty. There are some things stopping me from getting my business where it needs to be: 1. Time 2. Mindset 3. Retention There are many ways I can improve how I spend my time from not wasting time on facebook or craigslist to cooking all of my meals for the week on a Sunday evening. I could plan all of my workouts a month in advance. Probably the biggest way I could improve how I spend my time would be to identify my 5% and what 95% of tasks I should be delegating.. I keep reading in blog posts that I should read certain books to improve my mindset. Maybe they are right but I think reflecting on what I ultimately want out of my training business is equally important. Some of the books I have been reading include ‘Networking is a Contact Sport and Psycho Cybernetics. Both books are great and I feel like I am improving. I am trying to start the 5+10+15=5 program. Lack of retention is a result of not having the correct systems in place from accountabillity to closing. I must have the right mindset to close the client when they first come in and actively listen to there problems so I can actually know if I can help them. I need to ask questions, peel like an onion, get them to open up to me on why they are really meeting with eme in the gym in the first place. Then and only then can I get the sale. Once I have the sale it is time for Client Cloner Magic to begin.

Where is your passion? Where is your fitness

Where is your passion? Why do you get up each day? What do you hope to accomplish every day? Do you like what you see when you wake up and look in the mirror? We here at Jackhammer Strength Training hope to make your day better by making you feel important, praising you when praise is due, and helping you to reach and surpass your goals.
It has been a very chaotic year both for my personal life and my work life. Jackhammer Strength Training has seen too many people come and go but not enough stick around. I am to blame for that. I did not have the proper systems in place and was extremely overwhelmed when I ran my Groupon promotion. Luckily I learn from my past mistakes. I now have a team of four other trainers and am still looking for the salesman who will lock people in to long term contracts once their deal month is over. Certain days are extremely slow like tonight which is why I am writing now. One of our most successful clients lost 5% body fat in 2 months and reached her fitness goals. We have people looking noticiably leaner, fitter, and better on a weekly basis.
If you want to look better, feel better, and attract new and different people in your life give Jackhammer Strength Training a shot. Maybe I Nathan Jordan am not the best trainer for you. Maybe Kim Hughes, Kate Hughes, Kyle Codelupi, or Taylor Hitzfield is a better fit. Come try us out for a week for free.

Sunday bike ride and Pelotonia!

Hello everyone,

I am fairly sure that all of you know at least one person who has battled Cancer of some sort. Just in my family it took my grandmother, grandfather, and uncle away from me. If you have ever wanted to do something to help fight this horrible disease now is your chance. This Sunday July 17 Jackhammer Strength Training will be doing a bike ride starting at 5 pm at Antrim Park off of 315 and 161. This bike ride will take us to Tuttle Park and back which is approximately 15 miles. We will also stop to get some body weight training in using suspension straps. It is my hope to help one of my fellow members raise money for his bike ride in Pelotonia to raise money for Cancer. A five dollar donation is greatly appreciated by anyone participating in this workout and I will personally match all funds raised.

On another note if you want to tone up, gain strength, and fit into those skinny jeans contact me. I hope to see many of you for a beautiful bike ride along the river and help someone reach and surpass their fundraising goal.

Thanks,

Nathan Jordan

Crazy

It has been a crazy couple of months. The Groupon sold 223 offically and about 235 after I honored the deal to more people who did not get it through Groupon. Over 100 people started in the first month unfortunately I did not offer an enticing offer soon enough. I lost 5 of my members that were coming in and need to get them back. I currently have 28 people on board at $67 for 6 weeks, just hired a salseman, am looking for a second morning trainer, have a thursday evening trainer so i can go to Australian Rules Football practice. This week she will be teaching thursday, friday, and saturday as I am going to Chicago to a Cubs-Yankess game and an Aussy rules match against Chicago United.

I graduated about 5 weeks ago, need to start studying for the C.S.C.S. exam. On another note I just learned about the new postal service program to help small businesses with direct mail campaigns. You no longer need to purchase a list but can just send 200-5000 postcards up to 8 1/2 x 11 on any routhe within a zip code. For my first campaign I am going to sewnd out 1000 in the Grandview area. Hopefully this will turen into about 30 more people coming into the gym. On another note I have placed 14 signs and I think they are all gone now. So my new plan of attack is to ask my clients if they have a yard and if so ask them if they would be willing to put them in their yards. Tonight Berena took a sign to put in her yard. When I get back from Chicago I hope to get my decals onto my car might even go for a half wrap. Also in the works is Qnanza and I hope to get a Living Social Deal soon as well. But if I do get a Living Social Coupon I am going to have three more trainers ready to train!

On a personal note trying to do too much too fast and I am not sure why. I am not exactly sure what I want. I know what I am used to and I miss the things I grew accustomed to.

On my way!

Hello, I don't write nearly as often as I should. This week brought 8 new people to my boot camp. Thanks to Faveroo, Eversave, and referrals. This coming week I am suppossed to have a Groupon promotion in conjunction with Jeremy Werner of Powell Fitbody Boot Camp. Very few people know this but I have secured a territory and am now not only operating Jackhammer Strength Training but also Grandview Fitbody Boot Camp. The potential is huge as I hav access to 80,000 square feet. Groupon's goal for the two locations is to sell 1000 so if that happens I am probably looking at 400-600 new customers which would be a good bit of money on the front end but also the chance to literally close hundreds of people for recurring income. I know I am a good trainer, my clients have fun, get results, and I think I get better every week. I have 6 people ready to work for me. I have Volo software for people to log in to register for their assessment as well as when they are going to come to their boot camps. Also I just got my sumo suit so if anyone is interested in helping me recruit new clients during the May and or June Gallery Hop let me know. My plan is to run through the short north yelling I'm going to Jackhammer's Boot Camp with people following me and others with clipboards and jackhammer shirts on getting leads, and hopefully signing up 20 plus people on the spot. On the personal front I am starting to feel a little better about my whole situation. I am not where I need to be yet. Certain things are still very difficult. On a bright note I got to practice Australian Rules Football today for the first time this year. It felt really great to kick a ball around and run on a beautiful spring day. I am about to go to work at Spaghetti Warehouse then going to Mickey's tonight. Hopefully that will not be too awkward. Tomorrow I will get a new bed and then I will feel much better. :) Till next time Jackhammer

Trying to improve your position in life :) or :(

Have you ever done something to try to improve your position in life? Maybe you had a dream to be a sports coach, maybe you wanted to be a teacher so you went to college to become a teacher. Sometime after I realized that I was not going to be a professional athlete I decided to become a personal trainer. Due to certain things I could not find a job as a trainer at a commercial gym so I went and opened my own.

By doing this I was on my way to achieving a dream and doing what I wanted to do. Something that I enjoy immensely while helping countless people. Unfortunately their were some huge downfalls. Me opening a gym was very detrimental to my marriage as I could not spend as much time, pay as much attention, give my wife the attention and love she deserved, as well as the financial equation.

She lost 65 pounds in less than 6 months. Unfortunately I helped her to do so by recommending Tabata intervals as well as giving her some resistance training exercises to follow. She started getting tons of attention from other people. These people did not pay attention to her like I did when she was a little bigger. When she started losing the weight she basically quit eating full meals and would just graze. This took away a very important part of our relationship as supper time was when we had most of our conversations.

I have been through some very rough patches in my life some of my very close friends and family know a lot about my past but one person knows more than everybody else. My latest ordeal in my life has been harder than all the others. I've had to talk to almost everyone I've encountered just to talk about it and try to feel better. I've talked to co-workers at all three of my jobs, a mentor, friends, family, clients, and even counselours. Nobody really has good advice for this sort of thing. The best things I have heard are "it will all work out for the best" and my dad said "with all the crap you've been through I wished you'd never have to go through something like this."

If you are reading this you might know what is going on in my life. I don't know how this is all going to end up but it seems like I have to move on. I now feel like I have to avoid a lot of things because they remind me. For example tonight I got off 315 south at lane avenue and thought how happy I used to be coming home from indoor soccer to see my wife. I did not tell her nearly enough how beautiful she was. I apparently was not assertive enough in certain situations and I definitely screwed up more than I realized.

I am pretty sure that I was supportive of her through most of her phD. and hall directing time. I often had supper ready for her when she got home after long 10-12 hour days but when the tables turned and I started working a crazy amount of hours was she supportive? No.

Arnold expo!

All kinds of things happen at The Arnold Festival which is happening this weekend in Columbus, Ohio. This was the fourth time that I attended the expo. Each time I am less impressed. I used to be in awe like a little kid seeing Lou Ferigno (hulk), Frank Zane, Ronny Coleman, jay Cutler, Jamie Eason, and of course Arnold. Two years ago during the beginning of the pump and run I gave Arnold 5/shook his hand. Today he walked by me and was probably 2-3 feet away and all I wanted to do was for Arnold to go on by so I could find the ISSA table to place a lead box at. The guys do not seem as big to me anymore, the girls do not seem as attractive, and I do not really care about all the free bs supplements. Yes I still got supplements but then again I still have some left over from last year. Unlike a lot of people I realize that a crappy diet plus supplements is still a crappy diet.

The things I liked that happend today are I placed a lead box at the ISSA table, obtained a coupon code for the CSCS preparation and test which will save me about $400, met a plastic surgeon in Dublin who is on board for a plastic gift card promotion, and met a man who works for a Columbus magazine. Also today I sent Eversave an email about pushups for charity. Next up make my pushups for charity website, contact local police, fire, and every media outlet in the Columbus area. After that contact businesses to donate prizes to top competitors, watch the rest of my fit body boot camp videos, play around with Izigg text autoresponders, figure out the ins and outs of my volo software, go through the irainmaker tutorials, order signs for pushups for charity and Jackhammer Strength Training, get car decals, hang two more banners in facility, schedule more networking events, contact more businesses that have had recent online coupons, get more clients, train more people, over deliver, help people improve their lives, have my assisstant start training, and take a much needed vacation.

On another note yesterday I hex bar deadlifted 405. It had been a while. Muscle memory is amazing! Today I benched 255 for 3 easy reps. I think the planks, swings, and presses are making me a little stronger.

Faveroo and the real start of Jackhammer Strength Training!

Thanks to Faveroo a social marketing coupon site like Groupon I am about to have an awesome fitness business. My deal is 1 month of my boot camp with Jackhammer Strength Training up to four times per week for only $25. That works out to less than a doller seventy per session. So far 68 have been sold. Today I trained the first of the 68 then two more. Also I set up to accept credit card payments and got my logo put on the top of every page of my website. I also learned about some cool new websites where you can have all kinds of stuff done like get 15,000 backlinks to your website for $20.

Exciting times!

Since my last post I have signed up for the most recognized boot camp franchise in the world Fit Body Boot Camp. I now have a mentor who is very successful and is opening up his second location in Powell, Ohio. My location is 1200 Steelwood Rd Grandview, Ohio 43212 right next to The Ohio State University. Tommorow I am having a Faveroo ad which is in conjuction with the 614 magazine. This is like Groupon or Living Social and my ad will go out to a list of over 20,000 people. The deal is 1 month of my boot camp for only $25. If you were to attend 4 times per week for the month that would equate to about $1.56 per session. Meanwhile some personal trainers charge $50 to $80 per session. The coupon is limited to 2 per person and the evening sessions are extremely limited. Also I have limited hours available for personal training at an extremely affordable rate of only $25 per hour. Also my mentor is trying to hook me up with a contract with a major corporate restaurant which has a nutrition part of a wellness program but no resistance training included.
